There are hundreds of thousands of anti-aging treatments on the market, it’s astonishing. If I can feel overwhelmed and confused about what to use (although I do have my favorites!), I can only imagine how confused someone who isn’t up to speed on the latest breakthroughs could feel when browsing the cosmetic aisle. The Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), a nonprofit organization that supports women in the beauty industry, just announced the 2013 Beauty Award Winners—which is like winning an Oscar for a beauty product. CEW members (which consists of over 5,000 beauty executives) vote on the best new technologies, so I took copious notes on the anti-aging winners during the luncheon. They had two categories: mass retail like drugstores and supermarkets (which I call save) and luxury outlets such as departments stores and boutiques (splurge). Here they are:
L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Triple Power Eye Treatment, $25, contains their proprietary Pro-Xylane, which stimulates collagen, hyaluronic acid to moisturize and plump skin, and a cooling tip applicator that feels amazing when you use it.
Avon Anew Clinical Pro Line Eraser Treatment, $35, contains a patented A-F33, which promotes collagen, and retinol, the gold standard of anti-aging ingredients. Both ingredients work together to reduce wrinkles without irritating the skin.
Lancome Genifique Eye Light-Pearl, $68, has a unique 360 degree cooling applicator which massages the light anti-aging serum into the delicate eye area to deflate puffiness, smooth wrinkles and brighten the whole area.
Philosophy Full Of Promise Treatment Duo for Uplifting Days and Volumizing Night, $75.
This double-ended anti-ager has two serums: a daytime formula that instantly tightens and lifts the skin, formulated with peptides, and an evening serum, that’s loaded with kigelia, their exclusive retinoid that boosts collagen production.
Another CEW award winner of the night? Supermom Jane Park, founder of Juelp Nails. Scoop her awesome tips on how she juggles a company and kids all while looking fabulous.
