There are a few staples that everyone needs in their summer wardrobe, and I put nude wedges at the top of that list. They go with everything, whether you’re headed to work, school event or cocktails—or all of the above, as many of us do in one day! The trick is finding ones that are comfortable, with a low to moderate heel, comfortable soles and adjustable straps. The style also has to be somewhat classic so they’ll last a few seasons, yet have a tad of a trendy edge so they’re fun and current. Here are three nude wedges that meet those requirements (shown above from right to left):
Cole Haan Open Toe Demi Wedges Air Tali, $168, has a 1.5 inch heel that works great with capris and short dresses and skirts. (I never like to pair high heels with short hemlines.) The shiny patent leather boosts the fun factor, while the rubber soles mean you can run to pick up your kids after work without traumatizing your feet.
Sam Edelman Sutton Wedge, $100, has a 2 inch heel with a metallic strap that makes this a great work-to-cocktails shoe. The adjustable strap and buckle ensure you get a good ft.
Stuart Weitzman Jean, $375. Isn’t cork so chic? While this nude wedge has a higher 3″ inch heel, the 1″ platform makes it super comfortable.
