I’m a body lotion addict. I would never skip slathering on a soothing, hydrating cream after a shower—especially during the winter when my skin gets dry and very sensitive. Naturally, I have lots of favorite body lotions, most of which are from the drugstore—Nivea, Eucerine, Avene, Jergens, etc. I think it’s good to have a few to choose from depending on your mood and how much time you have. I love rich indulgent creams, but when I’m in a rush (which seems like always) they aren’t practical. It takes too long to rub them in, and then there’s the drying time for the stickiness to subside before you can get dressed.
That’s why I’m totally obsessed with the new St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion Spray, $8, which is a continuous spray lotion (like those sport sunscreens) that’s perfect for crazy busy mornings when you have zero time to moisturize. All you do is lightly mist your whole body, then it only takes a few seconds to rub in because it immediately sinks into your skin. The 360° spray works in every which way, so you can easily cover your back too. The formula is very hydrating, but feels light and doesn’t make your skin feel sticky. St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion Spray comes in three different varieties, but each one has the same core moisturizers: glycerin and shea butter, which contains vitamins A, E and F, as well as fatty acids.
Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter (my favorite!) is formulated to soothe dry skin with oatmeal and has a very light comforting scent of white florals and almond.
Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract is great for someone who likes a little more of a fragrant payoff. Fragrance notes include guava, mandarin zest, pineapple, Lily of the Valley, pink orchid extract, Hawaiian jasmine, coconut milk, creamy musk, vanilla, and blonde woods
Energizing Citrus & Vitamin C is perfect for when you need an extra wake up call in the morning. It contains grapefruit extract and vitamin C to energize and brighten the skin, and a zesty citrus scent of grapefruit, orange and lime.
I actually keep mine in the shower so I can quickly spray myself down before patting dry. Now here’s my million dollar mom idea: they should make a bottle warmer for it, just like the ones for warming up a baby’s bottle. The idea is you’d pop it in right before you get into your shower, so once you’re done, it’s all warmed up and just heavenly to spray on. Should I call Donny Deutsch?
