I’m falling in love with lipstick later in life. But that’s no surprise. I think many women do as they feel the need for a little extra pop of color to bring a radiant, healthy glow to their complexion. It’s the quickest anti-aging makeup trick ever! And, as expected on the red carpet, there was no loss of lip-spiration at last night’s 2014 Golden Globes. Here are three of my favorite bright lips spotted on some gorgeous Hollywood moms, plus the exact lipsticks used to create them.
BEST PINK LIP: Cate Blanchett
Cate Blanchett, mom of 3, is known for her gorgeous, flawless snowy skin. Her radiant bright pink lip was a gorgeous contrast. “We didn’t want to do the expected red lip to go with her gorgeous Armani black gown,” said makeup artist Jeanine Lobell. “So we went the softer route. No harsh lines. Instead, I blended colors for dimension,” she adds. First, Jeanine applied Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick in #502 Scarlatto ($34, a raspberry rose), then layered #509 Boudoir ($34, a nude rose) on top.
BEST ORANGE LIP: Amy Adams
Before we get to her lip look, I just want to recap the best mom quote of the night. “Thank you for teaching me to accept the joy and let go of fear,” said Amy Adams to her three year old daughter, Aviana, while accepting the award for best actress. Love it! Ok, makeup artist Stephen Sollitto created a “nudish orange” lip to complement her bronzy glow. Sollitto mixed Laura Mercier Crème Lip Colours in Discretion and Tangerine, ($24each) to customize a bright shade that didn’t compete with the rest of her look.
BEST RED LIP: Drew Barrymore
Pregnant with baby #2, Drew Barrymore looked radiant and happy with a bright red lip. Makeup artist Debra Ferullo was inspired by the pops of color on her Monique Lhuillier gown and created a feminine, soft look with a bright red lip. Of course, she used Drew’s new makeup line exclusive to Walmart: FLOWER Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby in Red-dy to Bloom ($8).
