Every New York Fashion Week that passes, there’s a slew of cool, fresh trends that walk down the catwalk, but it takes a keen eye to figure out how to incorporate them in the real world, especially if you’re a crazy busy mom. To the rescue, supermom Jacqui Stafford, fashion stylist, founder of Style Me Jacqui!, author of The Wow Factor, and a regular host on QVC. Yes, that’s what we call crazy busy! She recently broke down some of the hottest Spring 2014 fashion trends that you can really wear.
We love leopard print! It’s fun, bold, trendy and all over the DKNY runway show. If you find the bold print a bit overbearing, then tiptoe into the trend with a purr-ty purse. This Clare Vivier Haircalf Fold Over Clutch, $210, is cute, simple and will give your whole outfit that fun pop of leopard print. Pair it with your evening LBD or be casual and cool with black skinny jeans, a solid colored top and flats.
April showers not only bring on May flowers, but also one of the biggest trends for the spring season! Floral prints are everywhere; from dresses, pants, tops and even accessories (Related Post: Spring Trend Alert: Flower Power!). This Erdem Liberty Print Romper (shown far left) has a beautiful print and and mix of colors, but we’re obsessing over this Pim + Larkin Madeline Sheath Dress, $80, which is slightly more toned down and very versatile. We love the striped print background that is mixed with the bigger flower prints. It has a relaxed fit, so it’s very comfortable for the warmer days ahead. Slip it on, wear a gold cuff and necklace, then decide if you want to wear heels or flats because it can go either way. And the price is sooo reasonable.
