I’ve recently gotten into the habit of taking my own nail polish to the salon for manicures. My nails have been peeling lately, which make the polish prone to chipping, no matter what brand I use. When I bring my own colors, I can quickly touch up any chips throughout the week, which makes the whole time and expense of a pro mani actually worth it. And by the way, I don’t get manicures all that often. I wish! I try to go once a month, but finding the time is hard. I’m actually not too shabby at the at-home manicure either, but that’s a different post.
This new routine of BYOP (Bring Your Own Polish) has greatly opened up my polish brand choices, and now I’m diving into non-salon brands like never before. L’Oreal Paris has a new Colour Riche Privée Nail Polish collection that includes the best nude nail polish shades, all named after iconic L’Oréal Paris supermodels. I took three with me to my latest mani appointment, shown above from left to right: Eva’s Nude, a golden-speckled beige, Liya’s Nude, a deep purplish nude, and Doutzen’s Nude, a pinky nude. I settled on Doutzen’s nude and have worn it non-stop for the past month. I’ve gotten countless compliments. It’s the perfect nude that flatters my fair skin, and doesn’t look muddy or dirty. Eva’s Nude would be great for medium skin and Liya’s Nude for dark skin, like their respective spokesmodels.
I was also pretty impressed with the formula. My manicure did not chip for a full week, despite my peeling nails. I don’t think that’s every really happened before. Yes, a full seven days. I could have probably even gone longer, but I wanted to try something else. There was a little fading around the tips, which was super easy to touch up with a fresh coat every once in awhile. The coverage looks rich and creamy, with a lot of shine.
L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Privée Nail Polish are hands down the best nude nail polishes in my book. On top of that, they’re also a total bargain. Each bottle only costs $6. You can’t beat that!
